Paphiopedilum The Last Empress

A floriferous hybrid of Paph. Shin-Yi Sanders × Paph. sanderianum, combining the multi-flowered, sequential blooming habit of sanderianum with the bold, rounded petals and rich coloration of its Shin-Yi Sanders parent. It produces tall, elegant spikes with large, long-lasting flowers and dramatically elongated petals.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the soft foliage.
  • Temperature: 60–80°F (16–27°C). Intermediate to warm grower; avoid temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%; maintain steady humidity with good air circulation to prevent crown rot.
  • Watering: Keep the mix evenly moist but never waterlogged; use a well-draining bark and perlite mix. Never allow to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine bark and perlite mix in a plastic or glazed pot to retain moisture. Ships bare root, well-established. Grown at Ecuagenera, Ecuador.
