Product image 1

Lepanthes mariposa

A charming miniature epiphyte from the cloud forests of Central America, producing successive flowers on slender ramicauls beneath the leaf. The broad, rounded lateral sepals have a distinctly papillose texture, flanking a small lip with contrasting markings in a butterfly-like silhouette.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 58–75°F (14–24°C); an intermediate to warm-intermediate grower. Minimum tolerance around 50°F (10°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; maintain consistently high moisture with good air movement to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist but never waterlogged; water frequently with excellent drainage, as this genus does not tolerate drying out.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern, or in a small pot with fine sphagnum or bark mix. Plants are shipped bare root, well-established, and grown at our nursery in Ecuador.
